Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Provide supervision, Leadership & Training to staff
• Provide support to supervisors by safely managing their staff to achieve production, maintenance and cost targets.
• Facilitate effective interaction between the crew and other shifts, Coordinators and operational personnel.
• Assist the Superintendent in the performance management of crew members.
• Ensure that all work performed by the crews within the area is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the relevant legislation.
• Ensure a pro-active approach to safety management.
• Demonstrated Commitment to achieving Zero Harm.
• A Deputies Certificate of Competence.
• Sound technical knowledge of mining processes including practical, operating and mechanical knowledge of development mining equipment.
• Proven Leadership skills and the ability to coach and develop team members.
• Strong planning and organisational abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships within and between teams.
This critical leadership role requires a person with both well developed technical skills and personal attributes including the following: - 5 + years experience in an open cut iron ore mining environment
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering
- WA Unrestricted Quarry Managers Certificate
- A demonstrated background in managing contractor workforces
