The most productive agricultural area in Australia, Moree Plains lies mid way between Sydney and Brisbane in scenic northern NSW. Moree township itself, famous as the nation’s artesian spa baths capital, has a population of 10,000 and offers a full range of educational, cultural, social and sporting services. With a progressive attitude to economic development, Moree is at the hub of rail and road transport for the area and has regular daily flights to Sydney. Serving a population of 16,000 residents, the Council employs 220 staff and manages a budget of $40 million.
