The Commonwealth Bank Public Relations team is responsible for creatively and consistently developing new opportunities to promote the Group, its business, its people and its role in Australian communities. The team develop and deliver strategies that span media and stakeholder relations, leadership and business profiling, PR events, online and social media engagement.
The primary purpose of this role is to:
Manage business to business PR with a specific focus on the Bank’s Business and Private Banking division; a specialist division dedicated to managing the financial needs of small business, agribusiness and corporate clients. PR activity for this division is highly driven by business activity within each of these segments; therefore a sound business acumen, strong business media contacts and an interest business banking is highly regarded.
More specifically, this role requires:
A high level of relationship management and media relations experience as the success of the role depends heavily on the ability to plan and execute proactive PR whilst managing business expectations and priorities. Key to the role is the ability to develop positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and manage accordingly.
Proactivity and a good understanding of the external environment and impact on the reputation of the business is vital, as well as the ability to identify and capitalise on opportunities across the various Business & Private Banking portfolios.
To be successful for this fantastic opportunity you must have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, ie Communications or equivalent
- Between 6 and 12 years experience either in PR agency or in-house roles
- Strong media relations skills and quality media relationships, particularly in Australian business and trade media
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to manage relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Financial Service industry knowledge an advantage
