Work in Perth or on-site, manage your own team of designers, and work with other disciplines to produce and design drawings from base project information.
You will be a senior designer with a firm understanding of the latest engineering codes and standards, design practices and quality standards, and experience in offshore projects from the front end to detailed design, commissioning and handover.
You will have the ability to originate and check documents including:
- termination diagrams
- hook-up diagrams
- block diagrams
- schematics
- fire and gas layouts
- instrument layouts
- cause and effects
- loops
- piping and instrumentation design
- philosophies
- specifications
- datasheets
As a senior instrument designer you will have experience working as part of a large team under the lead designer and in accordance with the lead engineer's requirements. You will liaise with other disciplines and departments and produce and check design drawings and mass transfer operations. You will also ensure that your department works to a given schedule, complies to company, client, local and international standards, as well as safety and quality assurance guidelines.
You will have 6+ years of experience in instrumentation, preferably including offshore and onshore oil and gas experience. You will have good knowledge of programmable logic controllers, distributed control systems, emergency shutdown systems and fire and gas systems. You will be tertiary qualified with a diploma or equivalent in the instrumentation field.
Ideally you will be proficient in some or most of the following programs:
- AutoCAD
- MicroStation
- PDS
- PDMS
- MS Office, including Word, Excel and Access
- SmartPlant P&ID
- SmartPlant Foundation
- SmartPlant Instrumentation
- SmartPlant Electrical
- AutoPlant
Salary will be commensurate upon experience, but will be in the range of $140 000 - $170 000 Salaries outside this range will be considered for candidates with exceptional experience.
