Come and join a large Telecommunications organisation based in the heart of the Sydney CBD! This organisation is currently experiencing tremendous growth within their business and are recognised as one of the top three Telco organisations in the whole Asia Pacific region. In this role, you will be maintaining efficient and integrated development environments on the Unix and Oracle platforms as part of the project team.
In this role you find that your key duties will be to;
- Assist development projects with database tuning and general performance/load testing
- Provide expertise in redundancy, failover, backups, job scheduling, proactive monitoring, etc for new and existing applications
- Work closely with Technology Operations teams (including App Support, OIM and CAB) regarding deployment of new, project initiated, infrastructure.
- Assist development projects with installation of new application software for evaluation and assessment
- Administration of development support tools such as CVS
- May be a development resource on particular projects.
In order to successfully obtain this great opportunity, you will require the following;
- Unix (Solaris and HP-UX) administration experience in a project environment (not pure operational support), including shell scripting
- Oracle Development experience in a project environment with components including PL/SQL
- Technical degree qualification (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, IS)
- Experience with Redhat Linux environment (desirable)
- Java environments, both host and client (desirable)
- Source control systems, ideally CVS (desirable)
- Experience with the installation and configuration one or more of the following;
1) Apache web server
2) Apache Tomcat application server
3) BEA Tuxedo
4) Vendor or open source instance of Java Messaging Service (JMS)
