We are assisting our client in their search for a Project Mining Engineer to work on an open cut coal project in Australia. In this position you will be responsible for providing technical input to the project as it moves from prefeasibility into production. This is a great opportunity to be involved in a project from the ground level!
Forming a crucial member of the Projects team the Project Mining Engineer is responsible for:
- Evaluating and recommending different mining methods
- Developing long term mine plans & evaluating different options
- Developing cost models
- Liaising with consultants as required
You will play a critical role in bringing the project online in a safe, sustainable and efficient manner.
To be considered for this role you will require:
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining or Civil Engineering
- Previous experience in open cut mining
- Experience with different mine planning software packages
- Experience with mine design & scheduling
- Previous experience in feasibility projects will be highly regarded
