The contract is for an experienced firmware development engineer on contract for a minimum period of 12 months with likely extensions through to the completion of the project. You will play a lead role in the development of the new products.
You will have an Engineering Degree or similar, in either software or computer systems with +7 years of proven firmware development on embedded devices (preferably telecommunications), great communication skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
The product family is primarily satellite communications/tracking equipment, utilising a variety of embedded digital & analogue technologies.
Roles / Responsibilities will include:
- Lead firmware engineer of embedded development for ARM 7/NXP LPC microprocessors
- Excellent C (GNU) programming skills required, experience with Rowley Crossworks and Eclipse an advantage
- Manage and lead software engineering team
- Undertake software specification and design documentation, utilizing UML standards
- Oversee software testing and quality control, from conception through to final production
- Participate and lead in engineering software updates with project members
- Take on existing code and modify to suit new project
- Oversee GUI/Application development (.NET experience an advantage)
- Writing of content for User Manuals and Quick Start Guides, in collaboration with marketing / support.
This role requires an experienced engineer with determination and high initiative. You will need excellent planning and organizational skills, sound attention to detail, a confident and clear communication style, and the ability to effectively work without supervision.
The final rate will be commensurate with your experience and expertise and the above should be taken as a guideline.
