Our client is a global company that offers cost effective, diverse, and high performance engineering, construction, facilities and maintenance solutions across multiple industry sectors throughout Australia. The company services infrastructure operations across Australia as the sole provider and via Joint Ventures. They are currently seeking an experienced Operations/General Manger to drive their business in Victoria which consists of a series of contracts maintaining water infrastructure.
You will report to the National Manager and ensure the successful operation of these contracts and actively build the business across Southern Australia. Reporting to you are the Contract Managers who control teams of engineers, supervisors, fitters, electricians, field technicians, administrative personnel and subcontractors and are accountable for Safety, Customer Service, profitability of the Contract.
Specific responsibilities include,
- Operational, OHS and Environmental and Financial Performance (P&L)
- Human Resource Management
- Management of Customer and Stakeholder relationships
- Strategic planning and Development/Building of Business
- Ensuring compliance with all contractual and service level requirements
You are a highly motivated Operations or General Manager whose excellent interpersonal skills are underpinned by tertiary qualifications in a technical discipline. In addition you have had significant exposure to major public infrastructure projects (Water and/or Gas). You,
- Are able to handle a wide variety of contacts with diplomacy, tact and commercial acumen
- Are a creative and lateral thinker
- Are experienced in contracting, outsourcing and service provider management
- Able to work under pressure and within defined time lines while effectively leading your team
- Possess strong business acumen and bottom line focus
- Have lead or been intimately involved in winning new contracts
- Demonstrate a passion for customer service.
