This leading organisation is responsible for some of the largest public transport infrastructure projects in Australia. With a core focus on project delivery, this organisation requires a strong and capable senior executive to effectively manage community consultation and communications activities to support the organisation’s strategic direction and initiatives.

As a key strategic advisor on public affairs and stakeholder engagement, you will be the driving force behind developing and implementing the communications framework. Reporting to the CEO as a member of the executive group you will lead a team of communication professionals and provide high level strategic advice on issues management, government, community, and media relations. You will be responsible for overseeing the development of strategic communication plans which address complex issues. Integral to the successful operation of this organisation, the role will appeal to a highly driven professional with proven experience in working with government. Experience in the infrastructure sector will be well regarded.

The Position:

• Provide expert and timely strategic advice on priorities and issues from a public affairs perspective to a wide range of key stakeholders
• Proactively develop, guide and lead the direction and implementation of communication strategies
• Lead a team of specialists covering government and community relations, media, issues management, corporate and internal communications

The Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience in proactively managing public affairs and communications functions in a complex and fast paced environment
• Knowledge across the spectrum of communications including public affairs, community liaison, and issues management
• A track record in leading and developing a multidisciplinary team of communications professionals together with strong stakeholder engagement skills
