Being one of Australias largest engineering and construction giants they have expanded their civil division in terms of manpower, capabilities and turnover. Operating for almost century they have built some Australias most iconic structures and land mark buildings.
We are looking for a Commercial Manager / Contracts Manager with a Quantity Surveying background to work onsite managing all commercial agreements, contracts and cash flow on a $100 Million seawall project in Gladstone, work will run for a year and include management of a quarry, large scale bulk earthworks, marine work and land reclamation.
You will have a team of admin staff to handle the procurement and commercial management of the entire project. Local knowledge and contacts within Department of Main Roads will be valuable as well as experience on similar size projects.
This is a sensational opportunity for an experienced Commercial or Contracts Manager to step up to the mark with a large construction team in a corporate level position. Your role will be to maximize financial returns across different sections of the project. You will also be involved in resource planning, procurement and contracts management. Key responsibilities will be to:
- Assist Project Managers in subcontractor and consultant management
- Manage head contract variations and scope changes
- Develop cost controls for projects and reporting requirements
- Assist Cost Planners finalise cost estimates and budgets
- Account finalisation of head contract and subcontracts
It is envisaged that the successful Commercial Manager will posses tertiary qualifications in civil engineering or quantity surveying. You will have a solid work history with demonstrable experience undertaking a similar role on major infrastructure projects.
