This global consultancy business provides project management, cost management and management consultancy services across six continents from a network of over 60 offices. Their clients are involved in large construction and infrastructure projects and they operate as a single, integrated global business with true unity between the offices.
Their Cost Management team in Melbourne needs a Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor (Associate) to provide a full range of cost control services on a variety of large projects – but initially focussing on the Melbourne Water Capital Programme and the Melbourne Airport Expansion.
Reporting to the Victorian Director of Cost Management you will be required to:
- Provide early cost advice, cost plans and estimates on large civil and infrastructure projects
- Develop the cost database for infrastructure projects
- Advise on commercial strategies and tendering
- Conduct value management and risk management sessions with clients and design teams
- Perform post contract cost control and financial reporting
- Conduct peer reviews of work undertaken by others
- Assist the Director of Cost Management in building and maintaining client relationships with new and existing clients
- Prepare proposals and tender submissions
As an eligible candidate for this senior role you will have:
- Chartered status with AIQS or RICS or equivalent recognised body
- 5+ years cost management experience, preferably a private practice or construction organisation
- Previous experience in the infrastructure sector with specific knowledge of water and / or aviation
- Experience of working within the Australian market and / or Australian projects
- An ability to simultaneously manage the requirements of multiple projects and business development opportunities
- The capability to lead and manage teams
- A capacity to build, develop and maintain relationships with clients, consultants and contractors at a senior level.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
This position would suit Quantity Surveyors, Engineers, Estimators and Cost Planners interested in working on some of the largest engineering schemes in Victoria and honing their management skills with one of the biggest consultancy companies in the world.
