Our client is a commercially astute not for profit business, providing employment and training services to the communities of QLD and NT. Due to a recent restructure and rapid growth they have created an opportunity for an accomplished and passionate Chief Operations Officer to join and lead the team. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for a team of up to 100 staff, including Area Managers and their direct reports. You will be providing leadership to the operations team while working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors. You will establish and maintain a focus on building client relationships whilst underpinning this with strong strategic planning and development capabilities and you will be accustomed to rigorous corporate governance practices. Central to your role will be advising the organisation on key areas including the development of performance management systems, establishment of service level agreements, and promoting the organisation's values in achieving a functional "community business".Degree qualified, you will be a sophisticated commercial operator and understand corporate governance principles, resource allocation, budgeting, financial projections and implementing cost-effective control measures. You will be a skilled communicator with excellent networking skills, who has demonstrated leadership finesse and the ability to utilise this to enhance relationships and work practices. Your experience in large and complex operating environments which may include public sector or similar would be highly advantageous, as would your experience working with Government grants and tenders.
