About the Company: Our client is a leading construction cost consultant with the head office for the Australasian region based in Sydney. They work in all sections of the major construction industry including commercial, retail, residential, infrastructure, health and specialist projects. About the Role: This is a pinnacle role in an already strong commercial team. Due to our clients continued exponential growth they have a requirement for a Senior Quantity Surveyor in their Sydney office. The successful candidate will be expected to possess knowledge and skills attained during your previous work experience within the building construction / consultancy and/or civil engineering industry.Our client has the benefit of having a prestigious client base and are well renowned for working on Sydney’s most prominent developments. This particular role will give you strong exposure on major infrastructure projects.
Duties will comprise but not be limited to:
- Managing the Quantity Surveying team
- Measuring and describing the work including the preparation of tender documentation and negotiation with contractors
- Managing detailed budgets and cost plans
- Preparing and interpreting turnover / cash flow projections and profit / loss forecasts
- Undertaking the valuing of variations and potential variations
- Financial control
- Preparation and agreement of final accounts
This role would suit a Commercial Manager / Associate or experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor from overseas with experience on large infrastructure projects looking to move to Australia as 457’s are available for the right applicant.
About the Benefits / Allowances: Our client believes in motivating and developing its staff with rewarding above average salary packages. For these particular roles the salary on offer will be negotiable at $130,000 - $160,000 + super. In addition to the salary our client offers good incentives / bonuses and opportunities for quick development to Associate level.
Requirements: Candidates will ideally be tertiary qualified with the relevant qualifications. The successful applicant will be extremely motivated and be someone who wants to work with the best. Good communication skills in English are essential criteria. Our client needs enthusiastic, organized, confident and inspired individuals who enjoy developing, communicating and sharing ideas. Any previous experience working for a Tier 1 PQS company will be an advantage but not essential. In addition to this the desired candidate will also have the following attributes:
1) Chartered QS - RICS or AIQS
