You’ll be selling to a portfolio of agencies at a senior contact level and therefore experience in selling to agencies is essential - especially at a high level.
You will need to be able to respond to briefs, come up with concepts and strategies to present to agencies and work with your supporting Account Manager and Agency Strategy Planner internally. You’ll also be selling promotional ideas and generating revenue for the online component of the business.
You have a co ordinator to support you and report into the Agency Sales Manager. This is a hardworking team, unafraid of any challenge. Show tenacity, ability to grow agency business and to account manage agencies, be proactive with creative, brainstorm innovative concepts and you’ll be a star.
Your background would ideally be in radio, but this is not essential. More essential skill sets include:
- Excellent Sydney agency market experience and contacts. Know this market like the back of your hand
- Strong leader of people at all levels – not dictatorial in style
- 3-5 years of media sales experience
- A people person for internal and external relationships. Vibrant personality always helps.
- Know the media landscape – TV, radio, mags etc including who’s who in this world, competitor stats and projections, how the mediums are sold and so forth.
- Someone with vision to enable the team to grow, build revenue and make a mark on the ad sales world
- You shouldn’t be afraid to get your hands dirty and get out into the sales field with your team when needed.
Package: c$80-90k base + super + commission to $140-150k.
