The Department of Human Services and the Department of Health deliver critical emergency management operations in Victoria, particularly in relation to community support and recovery. This unique leadership position presents an opportunity for an experienced executive to contribute to the state’s emergency management program and provide strong leadership to shape the state’s emergency management activities. In reporting to the Executive Director, Service Delivery and Performance Division, Department of Human Services, the successful candidate will provide key advice to the Central Government Response Committee, while leading specialist emergency responses. This includes the ongoing management of the 2009 Victorian Bushfire response, public health emergencies and other community support and recovery activities. With a focus on preparedness, you will lead the response and recovery arrangements within the health and human services sector. Inter-agency liaison at state and federal levels will be critical in ensuring successful inter-operability of emergency management plans. We are seeking a specialist candidate with highly developed leadership skills and experience in developing and implementing complex risk management initiatives. A strategic thinker with strong political acumen, you will be influential in your approach and your interpersonal skills will enable you to communicate your vision to your key stakeholders within the health and medical, human services and emergency management industries.
