The Adviser, Preventative Health will help develop the strategic directions for the Government’s prevention agenda within healthcare services, and the relationship between prevention interventions and healthcare services. The Adviser will support the Chief Health Officer by establishing a Clinical Council to ensure that preventative healthcare is promoted throughout Victorian healthcare services, and will chair the Council.

The position also supports the Director Public Health and the Senior Public Health Advisor, Policy & Research in negotiating and managing complex cross government policy responses, commissioning and managing consultant researchers, and developing and implementing communication strategies. The Adviser will provide high-level technical and scientific advice on prevention and preventative healthcare to the Public Health Group Senior Management Team (comprising the Director, Chief Health Officer and Assistant Directors).
